    Our Information and Technology Services Division has a full-time opening for a Lead - Business Intelligence Application Designer/Developer. The role of this position is to do senior development work, offer technical guidance to BI developers, coordinate BI consultant work, and design, propose, and provide specifications for new application and process solutions.

    Job Requirements:

    Design and develop BI applications, datamarts, and reports as assigned using Business Objects’ Business Intelligence tools: Data Services (ETL), Webi (reporting), and Information Design tool (universes). As needed, serve as a backup developer for work involving Lotus Notes, HTML, Javascript, and CSS. Test and deploy custom applications in accordance with DD Coding Standards and CBS Security Policies following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process in CBS priority order. Communicate any barriers, delays, budget, or deadline concerns appropriately to DD Manager.

    Lead the BI Work Area to get efficient and effective throughput. Determine and enforce development standards, assist with technical questions, and review BI work. . Ensure BI work follows our SDLC process, time entries are created, and keep DD Documentation database up to date for consultant projects.

    Refine Requirements & Create Work Effort Estimates by reviewing BI Area projects to determine if requirements are satisfactory, solution is feasible, and scope of work is aligned with ITS security standards. Resolve issues through DD advocates, escalating to DD Manager if necessary. Utilize expertise to recommend enhancements to original requirements that provide greater benefits or reduced costs.

    Complete required project documentation to track project progress, create allocations, and understand prior development. On a daily basis, update project statuses. On a weekly basis, enter project work log notes and enter time spent. Upon project completion, update or create documentation of technical processes so another developer is able to make future changes.

    Respond to production issues as they arise according severity (defined in the Production Incidents process) to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner and customer communication meets expectations. Potential off hours support may be required. Communicate barriers and delays to DD Manager.


    Qualifications:

    College diploma with major in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related field with minimum of five (5) years experience in the respective development environment.

    IBM Certified Professional and/or other technical certification required.


    Skills:

    Experienced in using SAP Business Objects tools. Ability to design and create data warehouses, ETL jobs, universes and Webi reports. Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, data architecture, and data normalization.

    Solid understanding of the IBM Lotus Notes Designer client, and the ability to design Lotus Notes applications for the client and the web. Well versed in formula language and Lotusscript. Familiarity with Xpages.

    Knowledge of Process Design, UI Design, Application Workflow, and Application Performance Optimization.

    Strong skills in customer service, as well as in written and verbal communication. Periodic off hours required for promotions or issue support.
