    Our Retirement Planning Services Division has a full-time opening for an Actuarial Assistant. The role of the Actuarial Assistant is to provide professional and technical expertise to the day-to-day administration of all retirement programs of Christian Brothers Services, with responsibility to ensure operations are aligned with Company goals and objectives, established policies and procedures, and are as effective and efficient as possible.

    Job Requirements:
    • Certification of final benefit calculations for the CBERP, including review for mathematical accuracy and compliance with Plan rules
    • Assist with review of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, including calculating the division of attributable benefits for each party, communicating with the participant and alternate payee and respective legal counsel, if necessary.
    • Assist Plan Consultant with interpreting and resolving plan issues brought by department employees
    • Perform specialized calculations and studies as requested by the Managing Director, President, or Pension Board.
    • Attend Board and Trustee meetings as needed
    • Work with external actuary on Annual Valuation to resolve any calculation inconsistencies
    • Post Christian Brothers Services 403(b) and pension reports
    • Assist Plan Consultant with in-house annual actuarial reports for multiple specialized valuations

    Qualifications:

    • College Degree required
    • 5 to 10 years experience with retirement programs preferred
    • 5 to 10 years experience in actuarial work preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in an office environment preferred
    • 5 to 10 years benefit calculation experience preferred
    • Enrolled actuary preferred.
    • Associate in Society of Actuaries preferred
    • Excellent math aptitude
    • Verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer proficiency particularly with Excel, Word and ProVal
    • Ability to present to groups
    • Ability to organize and complete responsibilities in a timely manner
    • Knowledge of database systems preferred
