Comments: | I am on the Health Committee for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Over the past two years, we have moved from a self-insured health insurance system to an (Advantage) HMO system. The Archdiocese is reviewing other health plans for possible changes and I suggested that they review the Christian Brothers. It was explained that they had looked into Christian Brothers Health System, and the local networks you use are Sagamore and PHCS. They heard from several consultants and actuaries that the discounts on claims that we could get from a network like Anthem are much greater than we could achieve through Sagamore or PHCS. An actuary actually ran 12 months of our claims data through a comparison modeling program and estimated that we could save about $2 million per year in claims with Anthem as opposed to Sagamore. I would like to know if there is an easy way to verify this. For instance, do you provide health insurance to other dioceses or non-profit institutions in Indiana and, if so, is there a way to compare coverage and cost? Thank you for your time. |
