Preventing Frozen Pipes: Tips for Keeping the Freeze Away
Frozen pipes are a leading cause of weather-related property loss and often take place in the evening or over a weekend, when the facilities are unoccupied. Christian Brothers Risk Management Services has compiled a list of useful tips for helping you to avoid frozen pipes. A few of the tips include:
1. Do not reduce heat in the evenings or over the weekend when the facilities are unoccupied.
2. Do not use unattended space heaters for long, continuous time periods.
3. Test water faucets regularly to make certain water is still flowing through the pipes.
4. Conduct frequent inspections in areas that have the greatest exposure to the cold.
These are just a couple of the suggestions for reducing your risk of frozen pipes.
