Medco Copay Waiver Program
The three-month brand-to-generic co-pay waiver program encourages Christian Brothers Employee Benefit Trust members to choose generics by offering a $0 home delivery generic copay for new generic claims at mail that have not been filled within the past 12 months. This program helps save you money by waiving the initial copay, then can help save on your future refills due to having a lower copay. It also helps saves the plan money because generics are less expensive than brands. This helps to keep down the cost of you and your employer’s contributions to the plan.
Eligible Prescriptions include:
- New generic prescriptions, the initial prescriptions for a new course of therapy, filled at home delivery.

Current brand retail prescriptions that are switched to a generic and submitted as a new generic prescription to be filled at home delivery.

Current brand home delivery prescriptions that are switched to generic and submitted as a new generic prescription to be filled at home delivery.

Current generic retail prescriptions that are submitted for the first time to home delivery to be filled.
Non-Eligible Prescriptions include:

Prescriptions for brand medications that have recently become available or may become available during the waiver period as a generic substitution are not eligible for the waiver. After the new generics have been on the market for a period of six to 12 months, they will become eligible prescriptions.

Prescriptions for specialty drugs and Medicare Part B drugs are excluded.

Generic prescriptions currently being filled at home delivery are not eligible.
You will receive a letter in the mail describing the waiver program. The letter indicates the dates that your prescriptions will be eligible for the waiver program. You have to fill your prescription (send in the new generic prescription) before the date stated in the letter to be eligible for the waiver. You may also receive a reminder phone call from Medco informing you that you have an opportunity to participate in the waiver program.
You may be eligible to receive multiple waivers, if you have multiple prescriptions that qualify. Only one waiver per filled prescription, regardless of the quantity filled.
