What is Mail Order? How do I fill a long-term prescription using Express Scripts By Mail?

Your benefit plan includes the convenience of our home delivery / mail order services. You can have up to a 90-day supply of your medications shipped to your door. You will often have a lesser copay for a 90-day at mail prescription than paying the 30-day retail copay 3 times. Some plans limit the number of fills at a retail pharmacy and will apply a penalty if maintenance medications are not converted to the home delivery program.

If you would like to use Express Scripts By Mail for a long-term prescription, you and your health care professional must send a new, original prescription along with the Express Scripts By Mail order form you received with your Express Scripts orientation materials. Make sure to provide all the information requested on the form, including your privacy identification number (PID), group ID number, name, address and telephone number.

If the medication you are requesting is available at the Express Scripts facility, your prescription will be filled within five business days of the receipt of your prescription. If Express Scripts has run out of stock for your medication, an Express Scripts representative will notify you of any available alternatives. Standard shipping for Express Scripts By Mail is free.

You can also choose to sign up for Express Scripts By Mail online or click here and follow the instructions under Express Scripts Mail Order. Express Scripts will contact your health care provider to transfer your existing prescriptions to Express Scripts By Mail.
