Keep Your Investments on Track

When the stock market goes up or down, are you tempted to request a change to your Christian Brothers Services retirement account? Many people base their investing decisions on emotion, not realizing that this can sometimes make matters worse. A better approach is to periodically “reallocate” or “rebalance” your account.

When you reallocate your account, you do not move your existing money. Instead, you simply redirect how new contributions are invested. When you rebalance your account, you bring your existing mix of investments back to the same proportions you intended when you began investing.

Vanguard.com® makes it easy
Visit www.vanguard.com today and log on to learn more.* Once you log on, look for the Manage my money section, located on the right of your screen. Select Fund allocation change to reallocate. If you want to rebalance your account, choose Portfolio rebalance.

Remember: Even if you decide you do not need to make a change today, it’s important to give your account a checkup on a regular basis. By doing this, you can help ensure that external events, such as short market swings, don’t sway your decision-making.
