Advice Services are Available for Your Plan!
Need help choosing investments for your retirement? Do you know whether you’re on track for a financially comfortable retirement? Is help enough—or would you like Vanguard to do more of the work for you?
Vanguard advice services began November 1, 2007. To determine which of Vanguard’s advice services are right for you, read on.
What Type of Advice is Right For You?
Vanguard offers a wide variety of advice services to help you manage your financial goals, both for your retirement and your other investments. Some people enjoy managing their investments. Others prefer to turn the job over to a professional. Whatever your level of interest, Vanguard has investment advice services to meet your needs.
If you Want To Do It Yourself
Vanguard provides specific fund recommendations based on your time horizon and risk tolerance, which are determined when you complete Vanguard's short Investor Questionnaire. The questionnaire is easy and available free of charge.
Personal Online Advisor, powered by Financial Engines, offers independent, online investment advice for participants in the Christian Brothers Retirement Savings 401(k) and 403(b) Plans. Financial Engines forecasts your chances of reaching your retirement goals, provides specific fund recommendations, and helps you monitor your investments. You can also analyze "what if" scenarios and include non-Vanguard assets and income sources in your retirement planning. Personal Online Advisor is available at no cost to you.
Vanguard Financial Planning Services provide a personalized financial plan and a phone consultation with a salaried professional who receives no commission for his or her recommendations. Your Vanguard planner can give you specific recommendations to help you reach your long-term goals, including a comfortable retirement. This service is offered to investors with $100,000 or more in advisable assets at a fee of $0 to $1,000, depending on your total Vanguard balance.
If You Want Vanguard To Do It For You
Vanguard Target Retirement Funds provide a hands-off, "one decision" solution to retirement investing. These "all in one" funds offer a diversified portfolio at a low cost. Each Target Retirement Fund invests in up to seven broadly diversified Vanguard funds and adjusts over time to an appropriate asset allocation as the year you plan to retire approaches. Consider choosing the date-specific Target Retirement Fund that most closely matches the year that you expect to retire and you're done.
Keep in mind that although Target Retirement Funds can simplify investment selection, all mutual fund investing is subject to risk. Target Retirement Funds are subject to the risks associated with their underlying funds. Diversification does not ensure a profit or protect against a loss in a declining market.
Vanguard Managed Account Program, powered by Financial Engines, gives you professional management for your investments in the Christian Brothers Retirement Savings 401(k) and 403(b) Plans, from fund selection to periodic rebalancing. You'll see the proposed mix before any changes are made to your account. With the Managed Account Program, you'll receive clear, objective, and personalized investment advice. The investment strategy is based on a proven process used for decades by Financial Engines with managers of some of the largest U.S. investment firms. The fee for the program is no more than 0.40% of your account balance per year. There is a $60 annual minimum fee.
If you have significant wealth and complex financial needs, Vanguard Asset Management Services may be a good fit for you. Partner with Vanguard and work with an experienced professional to develop a customized investment program, manage your investments, and help to preserve wealth. This service is offered to investors with Vanguard assets of more than $500,000 and charges an asset-based fee.
